Palazzo del Podestà and Torre Rognosa
Located in Piazza Duomo, it was built in the 12th century as the residence of the Podestà. During the 14th century it then lost this function, due to the Palazzo Nuovo del Podestà (that is, the Palazzo Comunale). What catches the attention, however, is the tower that dominates the building: Torre Rognosa, a building 51 meters high and perfectly preserved. San Gimignano is actually full of towers; in fact, thanks to its "skyline" it has also been renamed the "Manhattan of the Middle Ages".
